Shopping Tips From Mom At Christmas From mothersdayflowerddelivery.org

When Times Were Tough Our mom went Shopping!

She armed us with these Shopping Tips that have spanned a lifetime!

  1. Take advantage of a store's layaway plan – If there is no layaway fee!
  2. Shop early
  3. Shop Sales – Get the best deal, not the cheapest products!
  4. Buy in bulk with a friend or neighbor and split the costs so you still save if you get 1 at full price and 1 at half off!
  5. Take advavtage of and Get Free Shipping on orders
  6. Shop for holidays one time a year so you are not over buying gifts.
  7. Cut your budget – Cut it again, now go back a third time and cut just one more time!  "OH YES You CAN!"
  8. Don't buy batteries ahead of time – they go bad on your shelf as quickly as they do in the package!
  9. Use coupons, but only if it's really a good buy – Sometimes it is NOT!
  10. Make a grocery list and stick to it.  If you run out of one item on your list, do without it and get it on your next shopping trip.
  11. Eat something before you go shopping – for anything, so you have more brain power and aren't going anywhere on an empty stomach!
  12. Heat water on a pot on the stove.
  13. Make holiday name tags from last years Christmas cards
  14. Don't put hot food in your fridge.  Let it cool off for a bit – about half an hour – first, so your refrigerator isn't working overtime to stay cool!
  15. Turn off the water while you shave or brush your teeth
  16. Turn off the lights whenever you leave a room – even for a minute!
  17. Never ask your mother for her opinions, unless you really want to hear what she has to say!
  18. Ask the clerk if they have any coupons or discounts you didn't know about.
  19. If you use it and it's on sale – Buy extra, otherwise don't stock up.
  20. Buy the most popular sizes for bigger savings.
